[Now accepting base tours] Sea Vegetable Seaweed farming ~Nishiizu edition~

Sea Vegetable accepts tours of production sites where organizations and companies can see seaweed cultivation up close. We accept the tour from November to May, and after you fill out the form with your request, a person in charge will contact your organizations and companies and suggest a specific schedule.

Meet at Sea Vegetable Nishiizu base

・We will inform you of the address of the production base after completing your application. It will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours by car from Mishima Station (Tokaido Shinkansen (東海道新幹線) /Tokaido Line (東海道本線)).

・You will need a car to get around the area, so please make your own arrangements for rental cars etc.

Observation of seaweed sea surface cultivation  
*You will go near the sea-surface cultivation site by boat and observe from the boat.

*The schedule takes into account traffic congestion and preparation time. If all goes well, we plan to finish the tour around 2:45 pm and dismiss at 3:00 pm.

Tour overview

  • Acceptable period: November to May
    *While we have designated seasons for observing cultivation at sea, you can observe the initial cultivation on land all-year-round. If you are interested in the initial cultivation tour, please contact us.
    *Please note that since seaweed is a living thing, how much it has grown varies depending on ocean conditions every year.
    *The person in charge will contact you later to discuss specific scheduling arrangements. Please note that depending on reservation availability, we may not be able to accommodate your preferred dates.
  • Capacity: 5 people (per one tour)
    If you request the tour more than 5 people, an additional fee (from 10,000 yen per person) will be charged depending on the number of attendances.
  • Tour fee
    Basic plan: 100,000 yen (excluding tax)
    Optional Plan A: Appointment of attendant staff: 200,000 yen (excluding tax)
    Option Plan B: Attendance by one of our co-representative: 500,000 yen (excluding tax)
  • Participants eligible to tour: Companies
  • Payment method: You must pay by the specified date based on the invoice.



Precautions

  1. The program may change depending on the weather and seaweed growth conditions.
  2. We cannot accept reservations for tours where travel agencies or similar entities charge fees to the general public and use facility tours for profit-making purposes. We may also decline reservations for purposes contrary to our mission, such as using the facility for non-profit events or photo shoots.
  3. This program is designed for corporate clients.
  4. We cannot take responsibility for accidents or injuries occurring within the tour site due to customer circumstances.
  5. You may be grouped with other visitors during the tour.
  6. Please note that late arrivals may result in a shortened tour route or denial of entry.
  7. We require agreement to a “Confidentiality Agreement” and completion of a “Participant Health Check.”

FAQ

What kind of clothes should I wear?
The sea-surface cultivation base is outdoors, so please think of wearing comfortable clothes to walk around outdoors. For your safety, please do not wear high-heeled shoes, sandals, or thick-soled shoes.

Can I use restrooms during the tour?
You can use the restrooms at the base.

Can I take photos and videos during the tour?
You are free to take photos at the production base, but there are some areas where we prohibit photography. Sea Vegetable staff will inform you the details. Please refrain from using photos and videos taken at the site for commercial purposes.

Can I purchase Sea Vegetable's product? 
There are no shops at the production site, so please purchase your products at online stores, restaurants, and retail stores.

Is there a smoking area in the base?
All areas are non-smoking. Additionally, the area surrounding our facility is a no-smoking zone.
