Ingredients:
- Flour 100g
- Water 100ml
- Fresh aosa seaweed 50g
- Fresh egg 1
HOW TO:
- Mix the flour, water, and egg together to make the batter. Then add the fresh aosa seaweed and mix well.
- Heat a pan and add a little oil. Pour in the mixed batter and cook on medium heat until the bottom is browned. Gently shake the pan to ensure even cooking.
- Flip the okonomiyaki over when it’s cooked halfway through. Adjust the heat between medium and low to ensure it cooks through evenly.
- For flavoring, you can use mustard mayonnaise and sauce with bonito flakes, or season it as you like with ponzu, soy sauce, or salt and lemon.
- This okonomiyaki has a subtle bitterness similar to tsurumurasaki seaweed, and it’s delicious even without additional ingredients like green onions, garlic, meat, or tempura bits.
- It’s perfect for aosa lovers and is even more satisfying with fresh aosa seaweed instead of salted varieties.
Enjoy your flavorful and chewy aosa okonomiyaki!
